@DerikWhittaker @lazycoder At one point in my career I realized that technology is just an enabler. It's rarely a true lynchpin.
@lazycoder Typically, with enough smarts, you can scale anything while maintaining forward momentum on features.
@lazycoder I have a hard time believing that it's strictly platform. I have to believe it's also the level of talent and staff they have. :(
It's amazing to think of what Twitter "could be", but isn't. It must really hurt to be handicuffed by technology and outside factors.
@dnanian FWIW, it'd be nice if SuperDuper had S3 offline all built-in so I could backup to disk *and* offline at the same time. :)
@dnanian No! I loved SuperDuper, I actually gave it up when I upgraded to Leopard for Time Machine... now, I really want an offline backup
@haacked Hrm... I have just over 100GB to backup here.
@rodbv hehe, grrrreat. I liked Mozy, if it didn't hang up after trying to back up three days straight. :(
Funny enough, I've only got 10GBs left on this 150GB HD on my iMac now. :(
Going to give JungleDisk a try now. Ideally, I'd like to store offsite and re-use my external drive now to move my iPhoto/iTunes libraries.
@cxi @vanillawafer @haacked @scottw @motowilliams @rodbv thanks guys - I used to use SuperDuper, and tried Mozy (to no luck)...
Starting to distrust Time Machine for backups. Suggestions on backup solutions?
@smarx Awesome, thanks for listening. :)
@nkohari @ryankeeter @veverkap You're welcome! Glad to help. Yell if you have ?'s as I'm digging in here too and can help.
@evolvingW well, they seem to be kicking out keys faster now... but you can also run the Developer Fabrik locally no matter what.
@smarx Yep, I'm just picky. :) Please take it FWIW, otherwise I'm LOVING Azure. Incredible work.
Great Azure samples and training: http://tinyurl.com/5vrt7q Highly recommended for on-ramping!
@smarx ...they seem to serve similar purposes, but one is <add key and the other is <Setting name
@smarx Well, honestly, just that ConfigurationSettings would follow the same convention as ASP.NET's AppSettings...
@tlaughlin Yeah, it's just absolutely absurd. I can only shake my head in disbelief.
