The ERC contains a vast collection of materials for educators, including videotapes, software, printed materials and lesson plans that reflect the most recent scientific discoveries about space and the Earth. Subjects range from science and geography to meteorology, astronomy, social studies and environmental science.

NASA aerospace education specialists from the ERC conduct staff development workshops for elementary and secondary teachers of math, science, technology and other subjects. Specialized workshops are also offered on such topics as propulsion, remote sensing and Earth resources.
NASA lecturers give classroom and auditorium presentations to elementary, middle, secondary and university school groups as well as to civic and professional organizations. Since opening in 1985, the ERC has served more than 80,000 educators, primarily from Mississippi and Louisiana.
The SSC ERC supports the NASA Office of Education at John C. Stennis Space Center in Hancock County, Mississippi.
The NASA ERC is located in Building 2105 at Stennis Space Center. The ERC is closed Saturdays and Sundays, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and government holidays.
