  • The Center for Biodiversity and Conservation (CBC) established at the American Museum of Natural History in 1993, is a facility dedicated to the study and conservation of biological diversity, defined as the variety of life in all its forms and the interactions among these living forms and their environment.
  • Conservation Ecology - This is an electronic, peer-reviewed, scientific journal devoted to the rapid dissemination of current research.   • The Ecologist - This magazine explores a broad range of subject areas. It covers issues both topical and general, and in doing so, open new areas of debate on everything from science and technology to the impacts of the globalization of economic development on jobs, health and the environment.
  • The Ecological Society of America (ESA) - a non-partisan, nonprofit organization of scientists founded in 1915 to: promote ecological science by improving communication among ecologists; raise the public's level of awareness of the importance of ecological science; increase the resources available for the conduct of ecological science; and ensure the appropriate use of ecological science in environmental decision making by enhancing communication between the ecological community and policy-makers.

  • MAB stands for the Smithsonian Institution's Monitoring and Assessment of Biodiversity Program (formerly the Man and the Biosphere Program.) Created in 1986, MAB's mission is to promote the conservation of biodiversity. MAB works internationally with governments, industries, academia, nongovernmental organizations, local communities and others to assess and monitor the biodiversity in their regions. Through an integrated approach of research and training, MAB provides scientific information and builds in-country capacity to foster the sustainable use of natural resources.

    Education

  • GreenCOM is the Environmental Education and Communication Project of the U.S. Agency for International Development. The project's objective is to use communication strategies to promote environmentally sustainable development. We provide environmental education and communication (EE&C) expertise to USAID projects dealing with biodiversity conservation, water resource management, environmental policy, public participation, and urban problems such as solid waste management and recycling.
