On May 22, 2008, USCS Ottawa, in conjunction with FedEx and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), hosted a highly successful U.S. / Canada Cross Border Seminar in Ogdensburg, New York as part of the Building Bridges to Prosperity - Canada First Program. The event was organized by CS Ottawa and sponsored by FedEx, CBSA, and the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham). Other organizations present to promote the event included the St. Lawrence County Office, CITEC, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Miller & Company, and the Ogdensburg Bridge and Port Authority (OBPA). Senator Aubertine, a member of the New York State Senate for the 48th district also attended the event.

Eighty people from Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Watertown, Harrisville, Alexandria Bay, Jericho, Ottawa, Kingston, Hawkesbury, Lyndhurt, Brockville, Prescott, Akwesasne, and Baie d'Urfe attended the event. Company profiles ranged from manufacturers of metals, brake equipment, and stamps to transportation services and audio equipment.
