GOVERNOR ADDRESSES TRAVEL INDUSTRY LEADERS AT 4TH ANNUAL HAWAI`I TOURISM CONFERENCE

August 28 - Governor Lingle delivered remarks at the 4th annual Hawai`i Tourism Conference and challenged visitor industry leaders and partners to find new ways to maintain the state's current tourism industry, while preserving the Native Hawaiian culture and the beauty of the state.

"It's about innovation and innovating in your industry," the Governor said.  "You have done it continuously over the decades, and no one does it better than you."

Governor Lingle also shared her Administration's efforts to strengthen the State's travel industry, as well as experiences from her recent trip to Japan.  

Coordinated by the Hawai`i Tourism Authority, the Hawai`i Tourism Conference brings together local, national and international industry experts to discuss the latest tourism issues and trends and the implications for Hawai`i.
