GOVERNOR LINGLE PROMOTES STEM SKILLS AS CELEBRITY JUDGE AT STATE SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING FAIR

April 3 - As part of her commitment to foster innovation through STEM (science, engineering, technology and math) education, Governor Lingle was a celebrity judge at the 50th Hawai`i State Science and Engineering Fair.  While touring student exhibits, the Governor met with participants and discussed the significant role STEM skills will play in their future endeavors.  A key component of the Administration's Hawai`i Innovation Initiative is to significantly increase the numbers of Hawai`i secondary school graduates with world-class analytical and problem-solving skills developed through STEM education.
