Here at John Muir NHS we are committed to accessibility. Please contact us if you have any great ideas!
Our Visitor Center was a veterinarian clinic when we purchased it in the 1960's. We have made it as accessible as we can with an automatic front door, and one large restroom.
Our 20 min. film about John Muir, "A Glorious Adventure" is continually shown with captions, and wireless headsets are available for those who are visually impaired.
Self guided tour books of the house and grounds are available in large print and braille.
For the grounds, a golf cart is available for rides up the hill to the house. There is also an "easy access" path for those of you who would like an easy saunter up to the house. Paved pathways also make it easy to navigate your way around the park.
A wheelchair lift makes the first floor of the Muir home accessible to everyone.
The first floor of the Martinez adobe is also accessible from the south side.
ADA approved picnic tables are in the park for your convenience as well.
