How to get here


From Norfolk International Airport, Virginia

  1. Start out going NE toward Norview Ave.
  2. Make a slight right onto Norview Ave.
  3. Turn left onto Azalea Garden Road (VA-192).
  4. Turn left onto North Military Highway (VA-165).
  5. Turn left onto Northampton Blvd (US-13 N/ VA-165 S/ VA-166 N). Continue to follow Northampton Blvd (US-13 N/ VA-165 S/ VA-166 N).
  6. Merge onto I-64 E (Hampton Roads Beltway) toward Chesapeake Bridge-Tunnel/ Chesapeake/ Suffolk.
  7. Merge onto I-464 S (Martin Luther King Memorial Highway) via Exit 291B toward VA-104 S/ Elizabeth City/ US-17 S/ Dominion Boulevard/ VA-168 S.
  8. Merge onto US-17 S via Exit 15B toward Elizabeth City.
  9. Take US-17 Bypass S toward Hertford/ Edenton.
  10. Take the Halstead Blvd exit, Exit 258.
  11. Turn left onto Halstead Blvd (NC-344). Continue to follow NC-344.

The United States Coast Guard Complex is approximately 4 miles ahead on the left. Halstead Blvd turns into Weeksville Highway and will take you directly to the main gate. Watch for the helicopter, airplane, and boat.

From Northern Virginia (Richmond, Newport News, Hampton)

  1. Merge onto I-64 E via Exit 28A toward Norfolk/ VA Beach.
  2. Merge onto I-664 S/ (Hampton Roads Beltway) via Exit 264 toward Downtown/ Newport News/ Chesapeake/ Suffolk.
  3. Merge onto I-64 W (Hampton Roads Beltway) via Exit 15B toward Chesapeake/ VA Beach.
  4. Take the VA-190 exit, Exit 292, toward US-17/ Elizabeth City.
  5. Turn Right onto Great Bridge Blvd (US-17/ VA-190).
  6. Turn Right onto Dominion Blvd N (US-17 S). Continue to follow US-17 S.
  7. US-17 S becomes US-17 Bypass S.
  8. Take the Halstead Blvd exit, Exit 258.
  9. Turn left onto Halstead Blvd (NC-344). Continue to follow NC-344.

From Raleigh/Rocky Mount, North Carolina

  1. Merge onto US-64 E.
  2. Merge onto US-17 N.
  3. Stay straight to go onto US-17 Bypass N.
  4. Take the Halstead Blvd exit, Exit 258.
  5. Turn right onto Halstead Blvd (NC-344). Continue to follow NC-344.
