Internship Overview
The Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is the policy, strategy and major IT initiative hub for the State of Colorado. Interns working in this environment will gain first-hand experience in state government operations and IT policy, as well as be exposed to senior agency management from both the business and IT arenas. Internships in the Office of Information Technology are unpaid; however, the candidates selected will have exposure to Executive Branch appointees, State Legislators, and other government officials. Interns will also have the opportunity to accompany the OIT management team at strategy, legislative development, vendor, project oversight, and concept development meetings. An OIT internship would be well suited for a person with a career interest in IT Management, Public Policy, or Business Analysis in either the public or private sector. Selected interns will see first hand how IT works in state government and how a major change in organizational direction is achieved.
