Menominee Language

The College of Menominee Nation (CMN) – Office of Education Outreach Extension has initiated the first phase of an Administration for Native Americans Language Project grant (ANALP). The theme for the grant is to build teacher capacity for Menominee Language Revitalization.

In the first year of implementation of ANALP, there are two main objectives:

1. By September 2008, eight certified Menominee Language Teachers pedagogy and language skills will be strengthened in order to meet recertification guidelines as established by the Menominee Language and Culture Commission.

2. By September 2008, form and strengthen collaborative partnerships between CMN and the Menominee Language and Culture Commission along with other local groups, agencies, and institutions where Menominee Language is being
taught. Through CMN and the ANALP there are currently seven collaborative agencies:
