Youth Empowerment ProgramThe College of Menominee Nation was awarded the Youth Empowerment Demonstration Grant in 2006 from the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Minority Health (OMH). As part of the continuing effort to improve the academic enrichment, personal career development, cultural enrichment, and overall well being of our youth, the YEP strives to collaborate with other institutions for higher education to address these criteria. The College of Menominee Nation - Youth Empowerment Program created both a 12 week After School Program and a 3 week Summer Program. These programs provide 6th - 8th grade students from the surrounding area the opportunity to explore Health Care career opportunities and identify the qualifications necessary to their continuing education. CMN staff are hired to instruct our YEP youth in the area of academics to increase academic GPA’s in their current grade level and local Menominee residents and/or employees provide cultural enrichment opportunities for our students' personal development.
