Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA)
Information about the BIA, the principal bureau within the federal government responsible for administering federal programs for recognized Indian tribes and promoting Indian self-determination.

Indian Health Service (IHS)
Within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, IHS provides federal health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Office of Intergovernmental Affairs (IGA)
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) IGA facilitates communication regarding HHS initiatives as they relate to state, local, and tribal governments.

EPA's American Indian Environmental Office (AIEO)
EPA's AIEO coordinates an effort to strengthen public health and environmental protection in Indian Country with an emphasis on building Tribal capacity to administer their own environmental programs.

Administration for Native Americans (ANA)
Within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, ANA promotes the goal of social and economic self-sufficiency for American Indians.

Code Talk
Hosted by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Native American Programs, Code Talk is a Federal, interagency American Indian Web site designed to deliver electronic information from government agencies and other organizations to American Indian communities.

American Indian Liaison Office (AILO)
AILO improves relationships between American Indian Tribes, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and the National Park Service through consultation, outreach, technical assistance, education, and advisory services.

Native American Working Group
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), provides leadership in ensuring the health and care of animals and plants, improving agricultural productivity and competitiveness, and contributing to the national economy and the public health.

Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities (OMHD)
The Center for Disease Control's (CDC's) OMHD promotes health and quality of life by preventing and controlling the disproportionate burden of disease, injury and disability among racial and ethnic minority populations.

National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS)

American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES)
AISES is a private, nonprofit organization that nurtures building of community by bridging science and technology with traditional native values and provides opportunities for American Indians and Alaska Natives to pursue studies in science, engineering, business and other academic arenas.

National Indian Health Board (NIHB)
NIHB represents tribal governments that operate their own health care delivery systems through contracting and compacting, as well as those that receive health care directly from the Indian Health Service.

Alaska Native Health Board (ANHB)
ANHB is recognized as the statewide voice on Alaska Native health issues and serves as the Standing Committee on Health for the Alaska Federation of Natives.

The Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP)
ITEP is an organization that provides assistance to Indian tribes through education, training, information services, intergovernmental relations, and environmental program development.

National Tribal Environmental Council (NTEC)
NTEC was formed in 1991 as a membership organization dedicated to working with and assisting Tribes in the protection and preservation of the reservation environment.

Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN)
IEN is an alliance of grassroots indigenous peoples whose mission is to protect the sacredness of Mother Earth from contamination and exploitation by strengthening maintaining and respecting the traditional teachings and the natural laws.

National Congress of American Indians (NCAI)
NCAI serves as a forum for consensus-based policy development among its membership of over 250 tribal governments from every region of the country. NCAI's mission is to inform the public and the federal government on tribal self-government, treaty rights, and a broad range of federal policy issues affecting tribal governments.

American Indian Health Council (AIHC)
AIHC is a group of American Indians dedicated to providing health information, referral, and outreach services to the American Indian community.

Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP)
AAIP is dedicated to pursuing excellence in American Indian health care by promoting education in the medical disciplines, honoring traditional healing practices, and restoring the balance of mind, body, and spirit.

Native American Prevention Research Center
The University of Oklahoma's Native American Prevention Research Center, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, works in collaboration with American Indian tribes and communities in Oklahoma and throughout the United States to address their public health challenges and priorities.

American Indian Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (AIRRTC)
AIRRTC is a project of the Institute for Human Development, at the Arizona University Center on Disabilities at Northern Arizona University. Since 1983, AIRRTC has conducted research and training to improve rehabilitation services for American Indians with disabilities.

National Resource Center on Native American Aging
The University of North Dakota, under a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Administration on Aging, works closely with local service providers throughout the nation to address the needs of American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian elders.

Native Health Databases
The University of New Mexico's Native Health Databases contain bibliographic information and abstracts of health-related articles, reports, surveys, and other resource documents pertaining to the health and health care of American Indians, Alaska Natives, and Canadian First Nations.
