Garcia testified before the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs today regarding the draft legislation on Indian Law and Order. Indian Law Enforcement Legislation Released by Senate Committee

NCAI Concludes Mid-Year Conference with Updates on Supreme Court Cases, Civil Rights for Native Americans

RENO, Nev.—June 4, 2008—The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) wrapped up its Mid-year conference in Reno with updates on pending Indian specific Supreme Court cases and civil rights issues involving Native Americans.

 

"This year's Mid-year conference was a success in terms of dialogue and turnout," said NCAI Executive Director Jacqueline Johnson. "I encourage tribal leaders and all attendees to share with their communities what they have learned here.
