Eagles to Host Post-Cleanup BBQ at the Linc, SEPTA Provides Free Ridership to Cleanup Volunteers
March 31, 2008 - With only five days left before the April 5th Philly Spring Cleanup, community partners are coming forward from across Philadelphia to help make the event the largest, most successful single day clean-up in the city’s history. Two key partners, the Philadelphia Eagles and SEPTA, have joined forces to throw a post-Cleanup BBQ at Lincoln Financial Field for all volunteers who come out to help with the Cleanup. more »


Mayor Nutter Appoints Members to Mayor's Advisory Commission on Construction Industry Diversity
March 31, 2008 - Today, Mayor Michael A. Nutter announced his fifteen appointees to the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Construction Industry Diversity: Bernard E. Anderson, Emily Bittenbender, Bruce Crawley, Sharon Dietrich, Sharmain Matlock-Turner, Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller, Walter Palmer, Robert Reinstein, Joe Sellers, Narasimha (Nick) Shenoy, Carl Singley, Sam Staten, Jr., Anthony Wigglesworth, Senator Anthony Williams and Mario Zacharjasz. Mayor Nutter Creates the Office of Leadership Investment
March 25, 2008 - Part of the Managing Director's Office, the Office of Leadership investment will provide central coordination and management for the internship and fellowship opportunities available within City of Philadelphia government.  Starting in June 2008, the Office of Leadership Investment will launch Experience! Philadelphia with two internship and fellowship programs:  “Summer in the City” and the “Destination Fellowship.”  more »


Mayor Nutter to Announce Massive City-Wide Cleanup
March 10, 2008 - Mayor Nutter will announce details of the Philly Spring Cleanup, a massive citywide cleanup effort to take place on Saturday April 05, 2008.  He will be joined by young people involved in cleanup projects around the city, together with community leaders and nonprofit organizations who are working to keep the City of Philadelphia clean. Philadelphia Youth Commission to be Sworn-in and Hold First Meeting
March 6, 2008 - Mayor Nutter and Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown will host the first meeting of the Philadelphia Youth Commission and the Honorable C. Darnell Jones, II will administer the Oath of Office to the Commissioners.  The Youth Commission consists of 21 young people who will review legislation and policies that affect youth and advise the Mayor and City Council on those issues.


Mayor Nutter, Senate Democrats to Discuss Legislation to Help Communities Coping with Housing Crisis

Mayor Nutter Supports Campus Philly’s Online Internship Fair
The Mayor’s Internship Program, sponsored by the City of Philadelphia, is one of more than 150 regional employers to support Campus Philly’s Online Internship Fair. The free online fair presents an opportunity for local college students to apply for 500 paid and un-paid internships with for-profit and nonprofit organizations.
