Licensing Process Conference

The conference was held as part of the NRC staff's initiative to continuously improve the licensing process for 10 CFR Part 71 and 10 CFR Part 72 licensing actions. Participants were encouraged to interact with the NRC staff and with colleagues to discuss insights on how interactions could be more effective and efficient. (See Agenda PDF Icon.)

Conference topics included the Spent Fuel Project Office's (SFPO's) "rules of engagement" with licensees, lessons learned regarding the existing licensing processes, and an open discussion on ideas for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the licensing process. The information centered on where the licensing process has taken us, its status, and where it will go in the next 3 to 5 years. Participants included SFPO management and staff, representatives from industry, and other stakeholders.

More detailed information about the conference is available in the documents listed below.
