To Whom It May Concern:

As a blind woman and independent traveler for 16 years, I find the audible signals totally distracting. Instead of assisting me to cross an intersection the audible signals actually interfere with my ability to use my hearing.

I have experienced these audible signals in several states and feel it is unnecessary to put them on every intersection of every city. This money could better be used in other ways to assist the blind.

Sincerely,

Mary Frances Hurt
