Reports
FSIS presented improvements for processing and slaughter inspection at the NACMPI meeting held in February 2008. In advance of that meeting, FSIS provided two reports detailing the scientific support for the improvements under consideration. One report discussed improvements for all processing and slaughter inspection and the other report detailed improvements specific to poultry slaughter inspection. FSIS has revised those reports based upon comments from NACMPI, stakeholders, and peer reviewers. In addition, the Agency has prepared response to comment documents for each of the revised reports. FSIS will continue to refine the proposed within establishment focused inspection activities under consideration by working with stakeholders to carry out a methods evaluation.

In addition, the Audit Report on Issues Impacting the Development of Risk Based Inspection at Meat and Poultry Establishments is provided below. This report presents the results of the audit conducted by the Office of the Inspector General, US Department of Agriculture.
