ComFish Alaska is Alaska’s largest and longest running fisheries trade show held in March in Kodiak, Alaska. Sponsored by the Kodiak Chamber of Commerce, ComFish began in 1980  (http://www.comfishalaska.com).

In 2002, ComFish expanded its focus beyond the trade show, adding a Fisheries Policy Forum component with presentations over the years on relevant issues such as Crab Rationalization, Climate Change, and Exxon litigation.

The AFSC Kodiak Laboratory has been participating in Comfish for more than 15 years. In 2007, the AFSC booth showcased a display titled “Global Warming and Bering Sea Fisheries” by Mike Litzow (AFSC), which illustrated the climate effects on the biogeography of Bering Sea fish and crustaceans. In addition, Claire Armistead (AFSC) put together an animated and interactive DVD of Eastern Bering Sea species and temperature maps.

Kodiak Laboratory employees staffed the booth for the three day fisheries trade show, reaching an audience of 3,000 visitors.
