Becoming a Vendor
Southwestern is dedicated to supporting small business, providing fair and open access to acquisition contracts, and promoting the purchase of energy efficient, recycled and recyclable, and environmentally sound products and services.
There are three categories of acquisition from qualified vendors:
- Under $3,000, micro-purchases typically processed using Government Purchase Card
- Under $100,000, simplified acquisition
- Over $100,000, contracts that generally require bids and requests for proposals
To become a vendor qualified to supply goods and services to Southwestern:
1. Register at Central Contractor Registration.
2. Certify your socioeconomic status by filling out an Online Representations and Certifications Application.
In support of electronic government and in accordance with Federal acquisition regulations, Southwestern electronically publishes all acquisition
opportunities that exceed $10,000 in the Industry Interactive Procurement System (IIPS), which can be accessed through the U.S. Department of
Energy’s
e-Center web site. Other Federal acquisition opportunities can be found at the
FedBizOpps web site.
