Desalination and Water Purification

Research and Development is guided by the critical objectives of the Desalination and Water Purification Technology Roadmap 2003 (US Bureau of Reclamation and Sandia National Laboratories 2003) and subsequent roadmap reviews (link to NRC review web page) and revisions. Roadmap research and development is currently being performed by scientists and engineers at our US national laboratories, commercial R&D firms, universities, and government agencies.

To implement the guiding vision of the Desalination and Water Purification Technology Roadmap 2003 (US Bureau of Reclamation and Sandia National Laboratories 2003), Sandia National Laboratories has been working with an eminent team of representatives from universities, national laboratories, private industry, water utilities, A&E firms, equipment suppliers, government, and non-government organizations to direct research to the best set of technology solutions.

The Desalination Roadmap and R&D at Sandia National Laboratories is part of the Water Initiative that is operated with funding from the US Government.
