Influenza Vaccine

Since 2000, our nation has suffered multiple shortages of seasonal flu vaccine. In order to address the factors that contribute to these shortages, I have introduced the Influenza Vaccine Security Act with Senator Pat Roberts to improve our methods of vaccine procument and distribution. The changes I have proposed include increasing public awareness and education about flu vaccine, using new technology to speed vaccine production, and implementing a system for tracking vaccine distribution. I also believe that the government should help create a stable market for flu vaccine and encourage vaccine development research and vaccine stockpiling.
