Logien Franklin recently claimed the gold medal in the 100-meter dash at the TAAF Games of Texas at College Station. Franklin, competing with the IBTT Track Team of Denton, posted a time of 10.5 to win the event and qualify for the 2015 State Games of America in Lincoln, Nebraska. Adam Choplick knew what it felt like to be chosen in baseball’s first-year player draft. Right after the left-handed pitcher graduated from Ryan and before he started playing for Oklahoma, he was taken in the 2011 draft.

Former UNT guard to conduct event
Former North Texas standout Deon Hunter will conduct a free question-and-answer session Friday regarding what it takes to play at a high level. The hourlong session is sponsored by Hunter’s company, Hoop Hunter Basketball, and starts at 7 p.m.
