Wilmington shortstop Hunter Dozier was recognized last week for his recent stretch of strong play in the minor leagues.
The former Denton standout was named the Carolina League player of the week for the week ending May 25. The third baseman batted .550 for the week, going 11-for-20 with four doubles, four RBIs and eight runs.
In 49 games with the Kansas City Royals’ high Class A affiliate, Dozier is batting .268 with two home runs and 24 RBIs. He was the eighth pick in the 2013 first-year player draft.
