Developed to enhance capabilities for the verification of gridded aviation weather forecasts made available in the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD). This tool is designed to support needs of the NWS forecasters and managers as well as for Quality Management of Digital Aviation Services products provided to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
[LOGIN REQUIRED]
Provides side-by-side comparisons of multiple forecasts and guidance and surface objective analyses in near real-time. The NBM viewer also enables users to view grid-to-point component and model blend verifications for METAR observation locations.
[LOGIN REQUIRED]
Provides verification metrics for ozone and aerosol predictions for the CONUS and for six geographic regions in the CONUS to aid air quality model development and assesses air quality forecasts.
[LOGIN REQUIRED]
Provides NDFD forecasters and users with feedback regarding the skill and accuracy of gridded NDFD forecasts through a verification system consisting of a combination of traditional point verification plus grid comparisons. The NDFD forecasts are compared to Global Forecast System (GFS)-based MOS (both point- and grid-based guidance), National Blend of Models (NBM, or Blend), and NCEP's Weather Prediction Center (WPC) forecasts whenever possible.
[LOGIN REQUIRED]
Provides the public with point verification results for selected weather elements from the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD).
Provides the public with point verification results for selected weather elements from GFS-based Model Output Statistics (MOS).
