Pallid Sturgeon
The Pallid Sturgeon (Scaphirhynchus albus) is one of the largest fish found in the Missouri-Mississippi River drainage, weighing up to 85 lbs. The Pallid Sturgeon is a Federally Endangered species.

Additional Information: This SEIS is being prepared in response to a District Court order remand of previous NEPA completed. The proposed action is to complete the construction of this municipal, rural and industrial water supply project which began in 2002 and then was challenged by the Province of Manitoba, Canada in the U.S. District Court. The communities and rural water systems within northwestern North Dakota face water quality and/or quantity concerns. The alternatives are being evaluated which would provide a reliable, high quality water supply for this area of North Dakota.

Continued levels of water seepage through the dikes could lead to failure and result in property and resource damage.
