Forest Service issues decision on Upper Echo Lakes Fuel Reduction

The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit released the decision for the fuels reduction project at Upper Echo Lakes. The project includes tree thinning and surface fuels reduction that is intended to reduce the risk of wildfire and improve firefighting effectiveness. The project, funded by the Southern Nevada Public Land Management Act as part of the Environmental Improvement Program is in a 45-day decision appeal period, which ends by the close of business on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Forest Service seeks proposals to operate Round Hill Pines Resort

The Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit in soliciting proposals to reconstruct, operate and maintain Round Hill Pines Resort. Round Hill Pines is a family-oriented lakeside resort located in Douglas County, Nevada, near the communities of Stateline, Nevada, and South Lake Tahoe, California. Applications must be received by Monday, May 20, 2013, 4:30 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, Forest Supervisor’s Office, 35 College Drive, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. The prospectus is available on the internet at http://www.fs.usda.gov/goto/ltbmu/RoundhillProspectus.
