The OIG's mission is best achieved by having an effective, vigorous, and independent office of seasoned and talented professionals. These individuals carry out our mission by conducting independent and objective audits, investigations, and other reviews of the NCUA programs and operations; identifying vulnerabilities in the NCUA systems and operations and recommending constructive solutions; offering expert assistance to improve the NCUA programs and operations; preventing and detecting fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement in the NCUA programs and operations; and keeping the NCUA and the Congress fully and currently informed of significant issues and developments.
