Paula Heller Garland, State President of the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals co-hosted TAAP’s 40th Annual state conference at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas in mid-August.  While there, she had dinner with Mackenzie Phillips, actress best known for her roles in American Graffiti and as rebellious teenager Julie Cooper on the sitcom One Day at a Time. CRCC launches new video: The Art of Rehabilitation Counseling

In the July issue of the CRCC Connections News Brief, CRCC announced the distribution of their new video, The Art of Rehabilitation Counseling, which focuses on the qualifications and abilities of rehabilitation counselors and their success stories. This is the first in a series of videos and can be found on the CRCC YouTube Channel.

Appointment Announcement - Martha Garber

Martha Garber has been asked to serve on the stakeholder group to provide input on the development of an electronic transition and employment guide as mandated by HB 617, passed by the 83rd Legislature.  The transition and employment guide will provide information on statewide services and programs that assist in the transition to life outside of the public school system.

Appointment Announcement - Norine Jaloway Gill

Please congratulate our own, Norine Jaloway Gill, who has been appointed to serve on the Employment-First Task Force required by S.B. 1226 by Commissioner Kyle L. Janek.    This task force will help to shape the implementation of the legislation that will impact the future of individuals with the most significant disabilities.  She is an excellent choice for the committee.
