Pennsylvania Sea Grant achieved college status in 2016 and is based at Penn State University. They are dedicated to promoting the ecological and economic sustainability of Pennsylvania's coastal resources through the development of science-based research, education, and extension programs.

On April 1, the Department of Commerce will award Penn State University with Sea Grant College status, the highest status that the National Sea Grant College Program provides. This award is based on the success of Pennsylvania Sea Grant.
