EL PASO, Texas -- North Texas kept its hot streak going in El Paso as the Mean Green beat UTEP 76-69 at the Don Haskins Center Thursday night.

The win is North Texas' fourth straight and sets a program record for wins in Conference USA with seven. It was also the Mean Green's first ever win in El Paso.

"Tonight was a great gutsy performance by the team," said head coach Jalie Mitchell. "I'm really proud of our efficiency tonight. It wasn't a pretty win but you'll take them how you can."

North Texas (10-14, 7-6 C-USA) received a variety of contributions after trailing 24-16 after the first quarter. North Texas' senior Terra Ellison scored 14 points in the second quarter alone to help give the Mean Green a 42-40 lead at the half. Ellison tied her season-high with two made 3-pointers. She scored all her points in second quarter. Where Ellison also contributed was on the defensive end. She predominately defended the Miners' (6-19, 3-10 C-USA) 6-foot-4 Tamara Seda who entered Thursday's game as the league's second-best rebounder. Ellison and company held Seda to five rebounds -- four below her season average --and only one of her rebounds against North Texas was offensive.

North Texas also shot the lights out from beyond the arc in the first half The Mean Green made seven 3-pointers in the openning half. Four different North Texas players made a 3-pointer in half.

In the third and fourth quarter it was Terriell Bradley and Tyara Warren who came up clutch for the Mean Green. Bradley penetrated the lane all game and finished with a North Texas game-high 18 points. It's her 16th game this season with a double-digit scoring outing. Bradley made 10 of her 13 free throw attempts and during the game made her 100th free throw of the season. She's the 11 th North Texas women's basketball player to reach 100 free throws in a single season and just the third since 2002 to do so.

Warren was 5-of-10 from the field in the game and hit a couple of late midrange jumpers to keep the Miners at bay. She finished with 12 points.

In the final stretch of the game, North Texas secured the win by making nine of its final 10 free throw attempts and having UTEP's leading scorer Sparkle Taylor and Seda foul out.

North Texas improves to 7-6 in conference. The last time they were above .500 in conference on Feb. 16 or later was in 2008. They also moved into a tie for seventh-place in the league standings with Texas-San Antonio who North Texas plays on Saturday.
