"TOPO-TARANTULAS" at WARE:WOLF:HAUS

CLOSING RECEPTION
SATURDAY OCTOBER 5, 6-10.
EARLIER VIEWINGS ARE AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT.

Tim DeVoe and Miriam Ellen Ewers collaborate on a new site specific installation that occupies the intersection between sculpture and architecture. This large scale work demonstrates the artists shared preoccupations with the interconnections between human kinesis and topological landscapes. The work requires the audience to suspend their sense of environment and enter a physically challenging setting through a portal that takes the shape of a van. TOPO-TARANTULAS force the audience to traverse a fabricated landscape and engage in the space of WARE:WOLF:HAUS. This is the first collaborative show and first exhibition in the Dallas area for DeVoe and Ewers.

Tim DeVoe, new Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas, holds degrees from the Maryland Institute College of Art (BFA) and Virginia Commonwealth University (MFA). His works have been shown at Keith Talent, London, England; Kim Foster, NYC; The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art, Virginia Beach, VA; and K Space Contemporary, Corpus Christi, TX. His new studio is in Denton, Texas. http://timothydexterdevoe.com

Miriam Ellen Ewers, received her MFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2006 and Bachelors of Fine Art in Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2000. Her works have been shown at ADA Gallery, Richmond, VA; Kim Foster Galley, NYC; Monte Vista Gallery, Los Angles, CA; The Washington Project for the Arts Corcoran Flashpoint Gallery, Washington, DC; The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia, Virginia Beach, VA; and is currently featured in the 2013 Texas Biennial at the Blue Star Contemporary Arts Museum. http://miriamellenewers.com

WARE:WOLF:HAUS is a warehouse space located at Trinity Groves in west Dallas. It is an incubator for experimentation and a collaborative effort to show rad things that may or may not be perceived as art.
