The National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) supports programs that foster research training and the development of a highly trained and diverse biomedical research workforce. The institute funds: (1) research training and career development activities; (2) a diverse workforce through diversity and re-entry supplements; and (3) the reduction of education debt via the Loan Repayment Program. Our programs offer opportunities at the undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral and faculty levels.
The opportunities listed on this page are for activities located primarily in U.S. universities and research institutions. With the exception of the Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00), opportunities are limited to U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to contact NHGRI training staff to discuss their proposed application well in advance of submitting the application.
