Klotz at all-hands meeting: “NNSA’s missions will remain vital to national security.”

NNSA Administrator Lt. Gen. Frank G. Klotz (Ret.) and NNSA Principal Deputy Administrator Madelyn Creedon hosted an NNSA All-Hands Meeting at NNSA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where he commended NNSA team members for their accomplishments over the past year and reflected on the future of NNSA’s enduring and diverse missions.

As they thanked many of their top leadership, both Klotz and Creedon were presented with flags that have flown over all the NNSA labs and sites – the Kansas City National Security Campus, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Nevada National Security Site, the Pantex Plant, Sandia National Laboratories, Savannah River Site, Y-12 National Security Complex, and NNSA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. – for their contributions to the Federal Government and the Nation as leaders of NNSA.

NNSA Production Office Manager Geoff Beausoliel and NNSA Deputy Associate Administrator for Management Frank Lowery presented Creedon and Klotz with commemorative B61 tail fins in recognition of their service and dedication to NNSA.<br><br>The Air Force B-61 tail fin was assembled 25 years ago as part of a nuclear weapon. Three years ago the weapon was selected and dropped, minus the physics package, into a Joint Test Assembly (JTA) and dropped from a B2 bomber at the Tonopah Test Range in Nevada.<br><br>“It is appropriate that this fin, a symbol of decades of service to our country in a number of capacities, with direct ties to the greatest Air Force in the world, be engraved with your name as a testament of the tremendous personal sacrifices and contributions you have made to our country and our world,” Beausoliel said.<br><br>Also at the all-hands meeting, Klotz, along with Creedon honored the contributions of public servants who helped make NNSA’s accomplishments a reality not just in 2016, but through the duration of their service at NNSA.

Anne M. Harrington received the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Gold Award in recognition of exceptional contributions while serving as NNSA’s Deputy Administrator for Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation.

Clarence Bishop received the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Gold Awards for exceptional contributions to NNSA during his tenure as Associate Administrator for External Affairs.

Anthony Gibson received the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Silver Award for his visionary leadership as Acting Associate Administrator of Emergency Operations.

Jed D’Ercole received the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Gold Award for outstanding contributions as the Deputy Director of External Affairs, Director of Congressional Affairs, and most recently, as DOE’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Senate Affairs. Orfa Torres-Jaen received the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Silver Award for her exemplary and integral role as NNSA’s Deputy Director of Congressional Affairs (not pictured).

Thom Metzger received the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Silver Award for his outstanding contributions as NNSA’s Director of Public Affairs.

Francie Israeli received the Administrator’s Distinguished Service Silver Award for her exemplary contributions in her role as Press Secretary in NNSA's Public Affairs Office.
