About This Program

As healthcare disparities among cultural minority groups persist in our country, culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) are increasingly recognized as an important strategy for improving quality of care to diverse populations. This e-learning program will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and awareness to provide the best care for all patients, regardless of cultural or linguistic background.

Overview

  • Course 1 covers how to deliver culturally and linguistically competent nursing care, including a self-awareness tool and strategies for delivering . patient-centered care.
  • Course 2 covers communication and language assistance, including how to work effectively with an interpreter.
  • Course 3 covers organizational CLAS-related activities, including strategic planning, staff training, and community partnerships.

Credit Designation

Nurses - 9 credits

This activity has been planned and implemented by Ciné-Med and Astute Technology. Ciné-Med is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), to provide continuing medical education for the health care team. This program is approved for 9.0 contact hours for nurses.

Please note: Because this program is for independent study, contact hours earned through this CE are recognized by the State of California Board of Registered Nursing.


Social Workers - 9 credits
