Visitors Our visitor area has aquariums, color photographic exhibits of the different culture techniques used, and aquatic ecosystem displays. A display pool with various species of fish, a scenic area with fishing access, a hiking trail, and a historic functioning wooden water wheel are also available for visitor use. Pennington Creek offers a public fishing site on hatchery land, with fly fishing for smallmouth bass and sunfish being very popular using wading or bank-fishing methods. Pennington Creek fish (1.04 MB PDF) Visitor Hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Hatchery grounds are open for fishing in Pennington Creek and hiking the Nature Trail 24 hours a day, year round. Please obey “Area Closed” signs. Driving Directions Take Hwy 377 North 8 miles from Tishomingo, then west 4 miles on Hwy 7. For questions on tours, or to arrange a guided tour, contact the hatchery at (580) 384-5463. Only the Nature Trail is available for self-guided tours of the hatchery. Informational signs have been placed throughout the Nature Trail for visitors to consult at their leisure.
