Navy physicians are stationed at our major tertiary care teaching facilities, clinics, and hospitals located within the United States and various overseas
locations. They are at research units, in various joint commands, and in other federal institutions. Navy physicians are assigned as operational medical officers providing direct support to Navy and
Marine Corps commands, squadrons, battalions and units. On very short notice, Navy physicians deploy in support of combat operations, disaster relief, and humanitarian assistance missions, providing
patient care ashore and afloat.
