The Administrator's Award is a combination honorary and monetary award designed to recognize NOAA-specific contributions. The award consists of a plaque and $5,000.00. In the case of group awards, the $5,000.00 is split equally among the members. All awards are funded by the nominating LO/SO. Winners are recognized annually at a formal ceremony held in the Silver Spring Auditorium. Administrator's Awards are granted to individuals and groups; each winner receives an engraved plaque signed by the Under Secretary.

Timing
The Administrator's Award nomination season generally runs from October through April. Nominations must be submitted to each Line or Staff Office Performance Management and Awards Committee, which vets all the nominations from that Office. The approved nominations are then sent to WFMO by May 1. The winners are usually announced during the summer and the ceremony is held in the fall.
Eligibility
Eligibility for the Administrator's Awards includes all NOAA employees (only Federal employees, as defined in 5 USC 2105, are eligible). Members of the Senior Executive Service may receive honorary recognition but are ineligible to receive the monetary award.
