American Citizen Services Unit
The American Citizen Services (ACS) Unit of the Consular Section assists American citizens in the Shanghai consular district. The Shanghai consular district includes: Shanghai, Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province, and Anhui Province.
In case of an emergency involving a U.S. citizen, please contact +86-(21)-3217-4650, press 1, then 3. If you experience difficulty reaching the emergency line after-hours, you may also call +86-(10)-8531-4000. Make An Appointment: To better serve customers and reduce waiting times, all routine services are by appointment only. To make an appointment for a routine consular service, including passport renewals, notary services, and reporting births of U.S. citizens, please click here.
