Norris Tyler was named Acting Administrator of the Office of Trade Adjustment Assistance in March of this year. In that role, he assumes responsibility for the Program Operations, MIS, and Petition Investigations Divisions of the Employment and Training Administration's Trade Adjustment Assistance national Program.

Mr. Tyler is a 24-year employee of the Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, and has served in several positions throughout his career. He began working for the Department in 1988 with the Office of Policy Development and Research, where he spent 19 years and ended as Deputy Administrator. He served in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Employment and Training from 2007 until 2009, when he left to serve as the Director of the MIS and Investigation Divisions in the Office of Trade Adjustment Assistance. As such, he has helped oversee the implementation of both the 2009 and 2011 TAA Programs, both of which greatly expanded the Group Eligibility provisions, benefits, and services of the Trade Act of 1974, as amended.
