Aviation and the Environment with ATAG Global Sustainable Aviation Summit (Classroom, 5 days) |
Be fully up-to-date on aviation environmental and sustainable issues and their management, with a special emphasis on new technology, improved operations and modernized methods of airspace and airport management. As a unique opportunity, participants to this course will also attend the ATAG 2017 Global Sustainable Aviation Summit and exchange views on its main conclusions. Coming one year after ICAO’s historic decision to adopt the Carbon Reduction and Offsetting Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), the mechanism by which aviation will achieve its stated goal of carbon neutral growth (CNG), the Summit will combine high-level discussions and breakout sessions on the implementation of CORSIA, as well as other issues relating to the sustainable development of aviation. For more information, visit the ATAG website www.atag.org. |

Aviation Fuel Management Essentials (Classroom, 3 days) |
Jet fuel is one of the largest costs in airline expenditure, therefore an important component in the management of an airline. In this course you will learn about the technical aspects of jet fuel so that you can monitor the quality and specifications of the fuel, examine the pricing formulae and pricing structure to enable airlines to choose the right supplier in a particular location, and fuel suppliers to better understand the priorities of the airlines. During this course you will follow the supply chain from the refinery to delivery into the aircraft, learn how to minimize fuel uplift, and understand the processes in place to ensure safety in the delivery of fuel by the fuel suppliers. You will learn how the tendering process works, how to develop best practices in the management of jet fuels, and explore factors affecting supply reliability, and safety. |
Biojet Fuel Workshop (Classroom, 2 days) |
Learn the fundamentals of sustainable aviation fuel and its essential role in the future of aviation. Sustainable aviation fuel is expected to play a larger role in the aviation industry as sustainable fuel types are further refined and airframe manufacturers continue their design developments. This course will give you a good understanding of the environmental impact of using sustainable aviation fuels. Using cost-benefit analysis you will learn about the financial implications to airline operations, supply chain logistics, and emissions trading schemes. |
Carbon Trading for Aviation (Classroom, 2 days) |
Understand Emissions Trading System (ETS) in the European Union. Learn about cap and trade, carbon trading mechanisms, and carbon markets dynamics and strategies. |
Climate Change and Aviation (Classroom, 3 days) |
