The Tuolumne County Solid Waste Division is responsible for ensuring that solid waste disposal services, which protect the public health and the environment, meet state and federal mandates for integrated waste management, and comply with waste disposal regulations.

The Solid Waste Division oversees the collection, transportation, and disposal of solid waste within Tuolumne County. The division is also responsible for the development, implementation, and promotion of recycling programs, hazardous waste collection, used oil and oil filter collection, electronic waste collection, compliance of illegal dumping, and monitoring of the closed landfills.
