ASWM BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
Free Participation in our Member’s Only Wetland Webinar Series

ASWM launched a new monthly members-only webinar series in early fall 2012. Topics alternate between science, policy and legal issues each month including the new wetland plant list, wetland restoration, wetlands and climate change, economic benefits of wetlands, important court cases and more.

Exclusive access to Member’s Webinar recordings*

All of the Members’ Wetland Webinars are recorded, post-processed and posted to ASWM’s website. The recordings allow members to catch up on any webinars missed, share favorite presentations with colleagues and students, and watch presentations at their own pace. Only ASWM members have free access to recordings of past webinars in this series.

Free Certificates of Attendance for all ASWM webinars*†

ASWM Certificates of Attendance are an efficient and professional way to verify your participation in our educational and training webinars. The certificates can be submitted to professional accrediting organizations to request continuing education credits. ASWM’s Certificates of Attendance are available to its members for free. Starting January 1, 2017, non-members are required to pay $25 per certificate.

Free Subscription to the Association's bi-monthly membership newsletter, Wetland News

The Association’s membership newsletter, Wetland News, has been published for nearly 25 years. The publication includes Association News, with analyses of important developing topics in wetland policy, management and science. Each issue features an original report or publication of interest to wetland and natural resource management professionals. Recent editions of Wetland News have featured issue papers by Jon Kusler, Esq. Ph.D., an SWS Lifetime Achievement Award-winning wetland policy & management expert; Peg Bostwick, ASWM’s Senior Policy Analyst with over 30 years of wetland science and policy expertise; and Jeanne Christie, ASWM’s Executive Director, nationally recognized as a leader in wetland policy and a recipient of a National Wetlands Award. In addition, other articles on wetland topics, such as state wetland program planning, wetland professional certification, wetland mapping and climate change adaptation, have appeared in Wetland News, often in advance of availability to the general public. Not all publications featured in Wetland News are posted on the ASWM website for the public eye; some are only available to members and work groups. This publication is an invaluable resource to members, who may not otherwise have access to wetland-specific findings or information that is not published elsewhere. Members receive 5-6 issues per year and access to archived editions.

Free Subscription to the Association's weekly news bulletin, Insider's Edition

A weekly bulletin exclusively available to ASWM Members, highlighting important news stories, posts from ASWM’s rotating staff blogs and weekly Climate Change Features. Members are also welcome to submit wetland-related job notices to be listed. ASWM keeps members informed of any special opportunities or critical legislative news through this weekly update.

Reduced Rates for Participation in ASWM Workshops and Training Sessions

ASWM members receive a reduction in fees for our workshops and training sessions including our annual State/Federal/Tribal Coordination Workshop held at the National Conservation Training Center each year.

Opportunities for Involvement in ASWM Committees

Members are encouraged to join committees and to take an active role in these collaborations. This provides members an opportunity to gain experience in issues of national importance to the management of wetlands. ASWM works with a number of partners throughout the nation.

Voting rights in elections of the Board of Directors and all issues presented to members to vote*

ASWM’s Board of Directors members and officers are elected annually. ASWM members have voting rights in the Board elections as well as any amendments to the Constitution of the Association of State Wetland Managers and on any other business matters brought before the general membership.

Access to a member’s only section for discussions in ASWM’s Online Forum*

ASWM is launching an Online Forum that will have a member’s only section for discussions regarding challenges, best practices and projects around wetland policy, management and practice. This service will provide members an opportunity to learn directly from their peers and share valuable information.

Corporate group memberships (11-20+ people) also include logo placement on ASWM’s website homepage with a live link*

New for 2017, corporate group memberships for 11 people or more will have the opportunity to place their logo with a live link to their own website on ASWM’s homepage. ASWM’s homepage gets around 1500 views per month.
