What We Do
As a Federal Wildlife Officer your office is the outdoors. We carry a dual role of enforcing wildlife laws as well as ensuring the safety of all visitors on our National Wildlife Refuges.
We work closely with Federal, State, local and tribal law enforcement agencies. Because of our diverse skill set, we have responded to numerous national and local emergencies, including hurricanes, tornados, floods and wildfires.
Each day brings a new adventure, and every day is different than the one before.
We help facilitate wildlife dependent recreation such as:
- Hunting
- Fishing
- Wildlife observation and photography
- Environmental education and interpretation
Our Law Enforcement Roles:
- Investigate suspected violations
- Issue citations
- Make arrests
- Testify in court
