Who We Are
Since the first Federal Game Warden Paul Kroegel began patrolling Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge in 1903, law enforcement has been an integral facet of conservation management. A century later, these law enforcement officers are known as Federal Wildlife Officers. Though the name has changed, the goal remains the same: conserving the Nation’s fish, wildlife and other natural resources while serving and protecting the public.
