WASHINGTON— On Tuesday, February 9, 2016, U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz will hold a media briefing on DOE’s Fiscal Year 2017 Budget Request, outlining DOE’s proposed investments in research and development, basic science, nuclear stockpile management, and DOE’s other core responsibilities.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Ernest Moniz today announced Dr. Phil Sharp as the second recipient of the James R. Schlesinger Medal for Energy Security. Dr. Sharp is president of Resources for the Future and a former U.S. Congressman from Indiana. Dr. Sharp will receive the medal at a ceremony at the Department of Energy headquarters in Washington on January 20, 2016.
