Pinnacle Mountain Fire declared "100 percent contained"
The portions of Jocassee Gorges east of US Highway 178 have been reopened to the public.
The burning ban on Jocassee Gorges lands, including campfires, has been lifted.
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources does not recommend traveling through Jocassee Gorges on the Palmetto Trail or on the sections of the Foothills Trail east of Sassafras Mountain. Portions of the trails are unsafe, footbridges are out and much of the signage was impacted during the fire.
