PATROL CRAFT ADVANCED TRAINING

(PCAT) | MASL (P145152)

CAPACITY:8 students X 1 course per year.

Objective

To provide International Special Operations Forces, selected conventional forces or police personnel with intermediate to advanced training in the operation of small boats in riverine and littoral environments.

Length/Scope

This five-week course provides students the skills necessary to perform group and individual small craft evolutions to include instruction in navigation, patrol craft operation, and live dynamic and static range evolutions using crew-served weapons in daytime and nighttime conditions. Practical applications will be evaluated and graded throughout the course to ensure that all students have accomplished course objectives.

Special Information

At a minimum, students should be in excellent health with 20/20 vision correctable, normal hearing and manual dexterity. Additionally, students should demonstrate general aptitude to include basic reading comprehension, writing ability, and math skills (to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions and decimals) in their native language. Students should also have the ability to float using required flotation devices.

Maintenance training provides a critical layer of technical expertise required to conduct small craft operations to include Outboard Motors, Diesel Engines and Technical Welding and Applied Repairs.
