Excelerate Partners

 

Excelerate is an exciting new program where you can earn your master degree or master level certificate in less time. Through this program, several universities are offering the Defense Acquisition Workforce credit toward master degrees and certificates for achievement of Level II and Level III Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification.

 

*Please Note: Any DAU equivalent course being considered for transfer to another academic institution using the Excelerate program must meet the institution's minimum grade requirements for transfer credits and other standard transfer of credit requirements of the academic institution.

American Public University System (APUS), the accredited institution comprised of American Public University and American Military University: Excelerate students may apply up to 9 credit hours of DAU training and/or DAWIA certification towards major or concentration course requirements for an MBA or Master's in Government Contracting, Management, Defense Management, Transportation & Logistics Management or Information Technology with either American Military University (AMU) or American Public University (APU). Qualified Excelerate American University students may apply up to 3 hours of course credit for DAWIA Level I, 6 hours of course credit for DAWIA Level II, and 9 hours of course credit for DAWIA Level III certification towards the 36 credit Key Executive Master of Public Administration. Bellevue University will accept 9 hours of graduate level transfer credits for DAWIA Level II Certification in Contracting as a concentration in Acquisition and Contract Management for the Master of Business Administration degree or into the Master of Acquisition Management degree. Colorado Technical University (CTU) will accept credits earned through certain DAU certifications that can be transferred into the following CTU Master's programs: MBA - Accounting, MBA - Finance, MBA - Project Management, MBA - Logistics & Supply Chain Management, MS - Information Technology and MS - Systems Engineering (only for Colorado Springs and Denver campuses). Columbia Southern University will apply 9 semester hours of transfer elective credit for DAWIA Level II Certification in Program Management and DAWIA Level II in Contract Management toward their Master of Business Administration degree. Columbia Southern University will also award 9 semester hours of credit for DAU Course PMT 401 toward their Master of Business Administration degree Project Management concentration. The Defense Acquisition University (DAU) has teamed up with The George Washington University (GW) and TwentyEighty Strategy Execution (formerly ESI International), the industry leader in project and contract management training, to offer training for DAU students. Through this dynamic partnership, students who have earned a Level 1, 2 or 3 Certification in one of the 14 career fields (www.dau.mil) may apply their certifications to shorten the path to earning a master's certificate from The George Washington University. The two joint master's certificates offered through this strategic partnership are Master’s Certificate in Project Management and Master’s Certificate Contract Management. Both programs provide comprehensive education and enable students to gain essential knowledge and skills that can help ensure successful project or contract management specific to the defense sector. This joint program was established to enhance the existing DAU curriculum and provide defense personnel another venue for professional development. Grantham University will apply 9 credits for DAWIA Level II and Level III Certification toward their Master of Business Administration. Excelerate Norwich University students may apply up to 6 graduate credit hours for any two of the following DAU courses: PMT 352 (Level III) and PMT 401 Executive Level course work, PMT 403, PMT 400, PMT 305, SYS 302, or IRM 304 towards course requirements for an MBA, MCE, or Master of Science. Norwich University will also grant 6 graduate credit hours for DAU’s (Level III) Acquisition courses ACQ 450, 451 and 452, or in the following courses:  LOG 350, CON 290, and CON 360 towards course requirements for an MBA. Trident University International, the New TUI, will apply up to 8-12 credit transfer hours to the MBA with a concentration in Project Management for DAWIA level II certification in Program Management; up to 8–12 credit transfer hours to the MBA with a concentration in Strategic Leadership, General Management, or Project Management for the DAU course PMT 401, Program Manger’s Course; up to 8–12 credits transfer hours to the MBA with concentration in Strategic Leadership, Logistics or Project Management for DAWIA level III certification in Program Management, and more… Please view the TUI – DAU special Excelerate addendum. University of Management and Technology (UMT) allow DAU courses toward Level II and Level III certification to transfer toward Master degrees and Master Level Certificates. University of Maryland University College (UMUC) will award 9 credits for DAWIA Level III Project Management Certification for either the Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Project Management or the Master of Science in Technology Management with a concentration in Project Management. Villanova University - Department of Defense Acquisition Workforce members possessing Level II or Level III Certification are eligible to receive credit for Essentials of Project Management towards the Master Certificate in Applied Project Management, subject to a Villanova University review of their credentials. Webster University will apply 6-9 credits for DAWIA Level II Certification in Contracting toward their Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts in Procurement and Acquisitions, or Master of Arts in Management and Leadership.
