PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The catastrophic winter storms that inundated Pennsylvania in February left the Commonwealth blanketed with record and near record snow amounts. The result was a presidential disaster declaration which, to date, has resulted in federal grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) totaling $25,319,497.04.
HARRISBURG, PA -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency announced today that FEMA has obligated $1,048,000 in Public Assistance (PA) funds to Pennsylvania to reimburse the Commonwealth, local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations for costs and damage associated with the February 5-11 winter snowstorms. Additional funds will be obligated as FEMA continues to process Request for Public Assistance applications.
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today announced an extension of the filing date for localities and private nonprofit organizations to submit Requests for Public Assistance (RPA) for damage resulting from the February 5-11, 2010 severe winter storms and snowstorms. The date has been extended to June 18, 2010.

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President
Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards
