GIS and Mapping
A geographic information system (GIS) allows the user to visualize spatial relationships between different datasets and interact with that data in order to make better informed decisions.
Within these pages are electronic versions of paper maps and interactive maps where the base data is maintained in some type of geographic information system. They include county base maps, traffic count maps, and interactive/zoomable maps that allow the users to zoom into their area of interest. For example, users of the Right of Way Plats map can access right-of-way plat information pertaining to North Dakota's highways by just clicking on the highlighted green sections.
